Veress Couture was founded in 2010 by Franciska Veress. The company`s ideology is to bring unexpected products to a high-end clientele who appreciates quality and excellent tailoring. Veress Couture is not only a design house for luxury apparel and accessories, but offers wardrobe styling, image consulting and custom design services as well. Veress Couture started the label with exclusive collections of fur and leather accessories with semi-precious stone and hardware accents, then continued by becoming the co-designer for Canadian label Whitney Linen Inc. in 2012. In 2014, Veress Couture is proud to launch a ready-to-wear apparel collection in affiliation with 12:34, a team of selected fashion industry professionals that offer a uniquely designed clothing line for 2015 Fall/Winter, as well as services for all areas of the fashion industry.

Franciska Veress, President of Veress Couture dreamt of creating fashion from a very young age. At any given time, she could be found following the latest collections on international runways, studying the details and craftsmanship of garments, and sketching new designs.
After finishing her studies in Hungary, Franciska moved to Toronto where she worked as a fashion show production assistant with The Monarch Events Group. At Monarch, she learned the ins and outs of the Canadian fashion industry and gained invaluable experience and mentorship from industry veterans Erika Larva and Elizabeth Walsh.
In March 2010, Franciska founded her own fashion design company, Veress Couture ©, and launched her first collection (the “Corset Collection”) at the Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto; the collection was an immediate success. For her second collection (F/W2010-11), Franciska unveiled the “Accessories Collection” of luxurious fur accessories, and also designed costumes for several fashion shows, including Catwalk Cure and the Bell Celebrity Gala.
In 2011, Franciska began as the in-house designer for Whitney Linen Inc., a Canadian label that imports high quality 100% linen from Europe, and designs and manufactures clothing for women and men in Canada. Together with company president Whitney Westwood, Franciska launched Whitney Linen’s Women’s Signature Collection, then the pair hit the runways of World MasterCard Fashion Week with its Couture Collections and Ready-to-wear collections. Franciska is currently working on a Fur and Leather Accessories Collection for the Veress Couture 2014 holiday season, as well as a Winter Coat Collection for Fall/Winter 2015 in collaboration with members of 12:34. Franciska thrives on pushing the boundaries of being a fashion designer. She not only understands design and product development, but she also has a wealth of experience in costume design, corporate image building, wardrobe styling, as well as the general management of a fashion house.
